Located on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, Puerto Coyote is just inside the southern boundary of Guanacaste on the Nicoya Peninsula, situated halfway between Malpais and Samara.

In front of Puerto Coyote a reef unfolds which can be surfed at high tide. It lies hidden around the corners of the cliffs and is a potential hotspot for experienced surfers, and when the swell is right, there are also fine breaks for beginners!

On the beach of Puerto Coyote you can eat freshly caught fish at Tanga's fish restaurant and just before entering the beach you will find the Cantina or Lorraine’s restaurant, serving delicious Tico meals.

Right behind these appealing beaches the landscape changes, to be covered with luxuriant vegetation, attracting a wide variety of unique species of birds and wildlife.

This special scenery is without doubt the ideal setting for your home in magnificent Costa Rica.

Just inland is the rural town of San Francisco de Coyote, where you will find a couple of small supermarkets and little restaurants, serving food typical for the region.  For the Fiestas of Coyote a bull ring is erected, and local cowboys come to show their bull riding, roping and other skills.  People from all over the country come to ride in the Tope, the traditional horse procession which is part of the Fiesta, showing you some of the finest horses in the country.

 Residents of Puerto Coyote enjoy their homes because of the serenity of the area.  Life moves at a slower pace, and everyone is perfectly happy with that. Small residential developments can be found with people from Holland, the USA and Germany. Finca Coyote is such a development, with extensive lots and nice houses. The largest part of the project's land is still cherished as 'green space', where a rich flora and fauna can grow and go undisturbed.
